Selection Process


The selection process includes the following stages:

  1. Written Test: Translation tasks include:
    • Three passages in Bengali, Hindi, and Nepali to be translated into English (10 marks each).
    • Two passages to be translated from English to Bengali and English to Hindi (10 marks each).

    The written test carries 50 marks, and candidates must score a minimum of 60% to qualify.

  2. Viva-voce/Interview: The interview carries 10 marks. Candidates must score a minimum of 40% to qualify.

  2. Fill out the form with accurate details, attach necessary documents, and affix a recent passport-sized photograph.
  3. Submit the completed application form in a sealed envelope with the category and post mentioned on the top left corner.
  4. Send the application to the Registrar, Original Side, 1st Floor, Main Building, High Court at Calcutta, Kolkata – 700001.

  • Three identical passport-sized photographs (one pasted and two stapled).
  • Two self-addressed envelopes with ₹45 postage stamps affixed.
  • Photocopies of self-attested mark sheets and certificates for Class 10 and 12.
