Lal Dora Scheme 2022 Full Details
What is Laal Dora
- The Lal Dora system was created by the British in the year 1908. At that time, a red line was drawn outside the population on the map for the purpose of separating the population of the village from the agricultural land to keep the revenue record. Because of the red line, the land or area under it came to be called Lal Dora. This system was especially applicable in Delhi and its surrounding areas. Posh areas of Delhi are in Lal Dora – Delhi Posh Areas under Laal Dora Today, the prime areas of Delhi are still in the category of Lal Dora land. In some places, commercial and posh colonies have remained here. Since these properties cannot be registered under the urban authority, the Delhi government issues Lal Dora certificates which are considered proof of ownership of the property.
Benefits of Laal Dora
- Lands covered under Lal Dora are exempted from building by-laws, construction-related rules and rules, and regulations under municipal laws. Therefore, the people living here used to build houses according to their needs and convenience without having to go through the hassle of passing the map.
Demerits of Laal Dora
- Since this land does not have papers, so the owner of the land or house inside the Lal Dora is the owner, whereas the land outside the Lal Dora has different numbers and it is also registered in someone’s name. Due to lack of registration, people have been hesitant to buy land in this area, apart from this, loans cannot be taken on it.
Development under Laal Dora
- Since there is no need to pass the map in these areas, there was random development of houses here. The once rural areas have now come in the middle of the metropolis. Due to the cheap rent, there was a rush of renters, cheap godowns and warehouses. Since these were outside the limits of the municipality, the lack of necessary facilities was hurting the people living here.
